The IPA is heavily involved in the working group tasked with facilitating the establishment of an international financial center in Moscow. We are engaged in semi-weekly meetings tasked with formulating draft law proposals and lobbying for their approval with the groups’ other members.

The majority shareholder of 7th Continent, one of Russia’s largest consumer retail chains in Russia, Pakwa Investments Ltd., is squeezing out minorities at a price considered to be half the market value of the shares, in clear violation of Russian law.

The IPA filed a lawsuit against 7th Continent on behalf of minority shareholders.

As part of our annual drive to elect proven, qualified and independent directors to the boards of Russian companies where our members hold shares, in 2012 we were able to elect over 40 directors to the boards of over 30 companies.

The Russian heavy industry and manufacturing conglomerate aimed to conduct a secondary share issuance (SPO) that would’ve been highly dilutive for minority shareholders.

GAZ, the Russian automobile manufacturer, neglected not to pay out dividends that it declared several years ago. Upon learning of this, the IPA immediately and successfully filed suit, winning dividends for its members through the court’s decision. IPA members derived immediate and sizeable benefits from this project.

The IPA was engaged by UC Rusal to weigh in on the shareholder conflict going on at Norilsk Nickel between its two major shareholders, Rusal (controlled by Oleg Deripaska) and Interros (controlled by Vladimir Potanin) and provide the investors’ consolidated opinion on the conflict.

During the reorganization of the telecom assets of state-owned Svyazinvest under the unified Rostelecom, the IPA played a crucial role in fighting for minorities’ rights and in shaping the agenda of the reorganization.

There is a problematic delisting & squeeze-out process going on at Power Machines, the Russian heavy machinery manufacturer for the energy industry. 
Mordashov demanded that minority shareholders of “Power machines” sell their shares (April 2013)

The Russian MICEX-RTS exchange is seeking to launch Novy Rynok, a premium listing product on the Moscow exchange. The IPA is actively seeking investor feedback on how interested investors would be in such a product.
